How the UG VR Creator Program actually works (in simple steps)

This page is my “I wish someone explained it like this” guide. I recently went through the process myself, and a few key details aren’t obvious at first — especially the difference between getting accepted and earning your in-game perks.

The big misunderstanding: acceptance ≠ perks

Important: Getting accepted into the Creator Program does not automatically mean you immediately receive the in-game perks (Satellite, Nugs, Creator Belt).

Here’s the simple version:

  • Step A: You apply to join the program (if you’re not already a creator).
  • Step B: Once accepted, you’re “in the program” (you’ll see creator channels + role in Discord).
  • Step C: Then you earn in-game perks by completing the monthly prompt cycle (usually 4 prompts).

How you know you’re accepted

The clearest sign (for me) was: on the update day (often a Thursday), I suddenly had the creator role and could see the creator channels in Discord.

My note: I went straight in at Creator Level 4, which matters because it unlocks the exclusive Level 4/5 chat, and Level 4+ also get a creator cosmetic in their Hut.

(Exact timing and details can evolve as UG updates the program — this page is here to make the flow clearer.)

Step-by-step: How to become a creator (clear version)

  1. Make at least 1 UG video and post it to TikTok or YouTube (UG content only counts for views).
  2. Apply to join the program when applications open (usually once a month).
If you’re not in the program yet, you’re applying for entry, not perks.
  3. Wait for review + acceptance (often reviewed the following week after apps close).
  4. Acceptance day: You’ll typically see a new Discord role and new creator channels appear.
That’s your best confirmation you’re officially “in”.
  5. Now you start the monthly prompt cycle like everyone else in the program.
This is what earns you the in-game perks.

The monthly prompt cycle (what happens each week)

This is the part that confused me initially. Once you’re already in the program, it becomes a repeating cycle. The exact timing can vary (4–5 weeks depending on how they align updates), but the rhythm looks like this:

Week 1

Prompt #1 starts + results day

New prompt drops. This is also when you may see outcomes from the previous cycle (perks delivered / role updates). If you were newly accepted, this is often when you first see the creator channels.

Week 2

Prompt #2

Post your second prompt video to TikTok/YouTube and submit the link wherever the program asks.

Week 3

Prompt #3

Same pattern: make a UG video for the prompt, post it, and submit your link.

Week 4

Prompt #4 + applications open

Final prompt drops and applications open (this is when existing creators typically apply to claim/renew perks and request level changes, depending on the current system).

Next cycle

Cycle repeats

The following update day rolls into the next Prompt #1, and the loop continues.

Re-qualifying matters: In-game perks are tied to meeting the monthly requirements. From the rules: you typically need to complete 3 of the 4 weekly prompts and submit those links properly.

FAQ (the bits that trip people up)

“If I get accepted, do I instantly get the Satellite / Nugs / Belt?”

In my experience: no. Acceptance gets you into the program (Discord role + channels). The in-game perks are earned by completing the prompt requirements during the cycle and applying/submitting correctly.

“What exactly should I post, and where?”

Post prompt videos to TikTok or YouTube. Screenshot posts don’t count. Discord posting is fun but not required. What matters is the posted video and submitting the link via the correct form.

“What’s the biggest mistake people make?”

“Does long-form really count more?”

Yes — per the rules: long-form counts as triple the views toward requirements (e.g., 10,000 long-form views = “30,000 views” for requirement math).
